Malaki a.k.a Mr. Chips was at the Gloucester Animal Control facility in Gloucester, VA since August 1, 2006, and now has been adopted from the Gloucester Mathews Humane Society!
PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS A SHINE REFERRAL DOG! SHINE posted this dog to bring more exposure to him while he was in local shelter facility on borrowed time.
Malaki, a.k.a. Mr. Chips is a 2 yr old intact male, black/white blue eyed woolie coated husky who just wanted to find a forever home. Volunteers described Malaki as friendly, affectionate, playful, alert, and outgoing. He is housebroken, leash trained and good with both male & female adults. The ideal home for Malaki according to shelter volunteers would be a place where he can be a housepet - indoors with companions - and also have a fenced yard to play in or be walked frequently. Malaki was a stray, was adopted to a home, but he was a bit too much for their small dog, so he was then turned into the GMHS. He was housed in a run with other dogs of his own size and did fine. Malaki would not do good in a home with animals smaller than him. He seems to be an active, healthy, well behaved dog. He is not yet neutered(but will be upon adoption) and his heartworm status is not known. Malaki was found wearing a pinch collar backwards, so it may be that his previous owners tried to work with him, or he was a handful...it's a mystery.
If you are the family who adopted Malaki, please contact us because we would love to hear how he is doing and update this Happy Tails page regularly.
