ADOPTED January 2005
Found her forever home in Laurel, MD!
Kaya was turned into S.H.I.N.E. by her owners who purchased her from a local pet store and unfortunately after months and many medical bills because of their young boys allergies, the owners decided that Kaya had to go. Kaya came to rescue a young puppy with a lot of spunk and a lot of learning yet to do. After many weeks in rescue, Kaya was just starting to make progress past "puppy" and her new home found her! Her new family had 2 years prior adopted another husky from Pet Harbor and had recently lost their longtime Collie companion, so they needed another canine to make the family complete again. Well, Kaya fit that bill perfectly! She has a canine sister to romp with and learn from, as well as two young children to follow around and keep company.

Happy Tails Kaya!
UPDATE: April 2007
"Kaya is doing well and such a great dog. She still holds your hand with her mouth, when she wants attention. She has found her voice and will tell us when she has to go outside. She also does this cute little tap dance when she wants to go out. We have had no medical issues and she has put on some weight, but still is still well with in normal limits."
