This beautiful 1-2 yr old spayed female grey/white blue eyed husky was turned over to animal control by her owners because they claimed she injured a domestic cat in the neighborhood, but the cat ran off after the "attack" so the injuries could not be evaluated. Lexi was housed at the Gloucester Animal Control facility so her time was VERY LIMITED! People who interacted with Lexi at the shelter said she is great on a leash, fairly settled and calm, very pretty and in good physical condition. She is friendly, alert, outgoing, playful and affectionate. Not much else was known due to the restrictive atmosphere of the county animal control facility.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS WAS A SHINE REFERRAL DOG! SHINE posted this dog to bring more exposure to her while she was in the county animal control facility on borrowed time.
Lexi found a wonderful new home in Newport News with a mom, dad, kids and another canine companion. Lexi has since tested positive for heartworms, but the new owners are getting her treated and she should be good as new in a few months.

UPDATE 1-9-07: "Lexi was adopted from Gloucester pound. Lexi has been such a joy to our family.. She has soo much love to give.. When we adopted her she did have heartworms and with the help of my mother-in-law we were able to treat her. She is very healthy now and has gained a lot weight. She's been such a good companion to Abby our 13 year old pit bull. My children love her soo much. She loves to run and play with them.. In the mornings and evenings she talks up a storm.. She's so sweet.. Thank you SHINE..."
